Arrival at Last

After a restless 18 hours of travel we are finally here in Copenhagen! The flight from Minneapolis to Iceland was the most miserable 6 hours of my life. The plane was completely full, therefore I felt guilty reclining my seat. I maybe shut my eyes for around 10 minutes. The same for Valerie. Jill on the other hand, drugged herself up and was able to sleep for the complete flight. We flew into night some where over the Atlantic and then out again 2 hours out from Iceland. Iceland was beautiful! The terrain was very rocky and green. We bought a few postcards and a chocolate croissant from a cafe. Our time it was 3 am. There it was 8. About to board the plane we were standing in line having our passport checked. The man checking didn't check Valerie's very well and she went through the gate no problem. He then looked at mine and yelled "WRONG GATE"! We then proceeded to tell him that our friend had already gone through! He stomped in and grabbed Valerie arm and drug her. 'Stupid Americans' he was probably thinking. The flight to Copenhagen took 3 hours. The ride went very smoothly. Once again I was unable to fall asleep, but luckily Valerie and Jill were. Upon arrival we discovered that the hotel was having issues with their shuttle bus. So... we needed to take a taxi with 6 full size suit cases! We exchanged USD to DKK and tried our best to find a suitable cab. Luckily we did. The ride cost 108 DKK, or around $18. We were re-embursed by the hotel. As soon as we arrived in the hotel we gave a quick call to Celia and jumped in our "2 beds" actually squashed into one. While we were asleep a man entered with an extra bed. We were all a little surprised. Now I sit waiting for the crew to wake, starving, and soooo excited!
